It's difficult for Australia to achieve unprecedented feats.

The greatest achievements have been successfully scaled.

We're talking about the squad that has secured seven Cricket World Cups, in addition to six more T20 titles, and earlier maintained over three years undefeated in 50-over cricket.

The secondary achievements, those for the achievement hunters, are what's still available for a side that has won it all.

It needed as late as Sunday's victory by three wickets over India for them to achieve their initial ODI chase exceeding 300, taking back their record for the largest in women's cricket's 50-over format, is, honestly, a compliment to the bowlers that have worn canary yellow over the past 50 years.

It's difficult for their batsmen to possess a record if not provided the chance.

In the end, the outcome of Australia conceding 330 was captain Alyssa Healy receiving a platform to produce her latest masterpiece.

Then best known as the 19-year-old niece of renowned former Aussie wicketkeeper Ian, she made her debut in 2010 after her country failed to win either of the T20 or ODI World Cups held the previous year and has experienced everything through 15 trophy-laden years since.

A T20 championship victory happened three months after her debut and seven international trophies have come from 10 efforts across formats.

The gritty keeper was present as well in Derby in 2017 when a semi-final setback by India briefly halted the successful run.

That loss "pushed us to reconsider our benchmarks," Healy commented earlier.

At the next 50-over World Cup in New Zealand, Healy hit 170 against England in the title decider and was declared player of the series. She ensured her country would not come up short.

The question of whether this recent magnificent innings surpassed that earlier display remains open for discussion.

Some will argue the argument supporting championship match pressure. Others can counter with the difficulty that comes when facing a record target and a raucous India-supporting crowd of 20,000.

What is certain is this ton was considerably tougher to predict.

The Christchurch destruction in 2022 came as she topped the run-scoring charts, but this knock came after six matches in India from the beginning of the previous month in which she had failed to pass 30.

"If you've observed me in the nets, it has been a frustrating experience because I feel like I lacked timing completely," commented Healy.

"However when you enter the playing area, your competitive nature activate and you completely engage with the match."

Healy's competitive nature has consistently been her great strength - and an invaluable trait in replacing famous previous leader Meg Lanning.

She was tormented by India's emerging talent Kranti Gaud in the previous month's ODI series, out to the emerging pace bowler in each encounter, but on this occasion it simply offered Healy's spark.

One run resulted off Gaud's first delivery and from there Healy was in motion.

"An opportunity to play and face the challenge with her and simply enjoy myself in that aspect, kind of motivated me," stated Healy.

She reached fifty in 35 deliveries - her quickest at a World Cup - and her ton in 84 balls as she attacked short-pitched balls, hitting 21 fours and three sixes.

When she was dismissed her side needed 66 additional runs at a run-a-ball - a manageable total now requiring a leisurely stroll.

"Chasing 330 runs is new territory so I'm pleased we have the assurance to do that now," stated Healy further.

"Hopefully we don't have to do it again but, if we do, we know we can do it."

These statements will be the last Australia's opponents at this tournament want to hear.

During the last week a belief they will win from any position has become more firm - this success coming after success over Pakistan by 107 run margin despite struggling at 76-7 at one point.

Following this Australia face Bangladesh before an encounter with traditional opponents England in Indore in a week and a half, by which point a semi-final place may likely be confirmed.

It was at that stage they left the previous year's T20 World Cup in an unexpected loss by South Africa - a match Healy missed because of ruptured tissue in her foot as she led her country for the initial instance at a significant event.

So strong is her resolve, she subsequently stated she wished she had played despite the injury.

But while she afterwards confessed those fitness problems have delayed plans to retire, this tournament is expected to be her concluding event as leader in 50-over cricket and she is still to achieve an international tournament as skipper.

Victory in India would take her to the summit of her ultimate challenge.
